Cyberlaw

Cyber communication brings new and challenging problems to law. There is very few written about this new problematic in Portugal. In addiction, the body of precedents in this area of cyber law is still very small. For this reason, more than just to store the studies we will be doing about cyberlaw, this page serves the purpose of pointing out some sites about this issue that we consider particularly useful and interesting. We will be paying a close attention to the issues concerning freedom of communication. We are firm supporters of freedom of speech and therefore we strongly oppose any and all aggressions to that freedom. But we are also favorable of responsibility and the need to held responsible those that in an unreasonable and unfair way – and above all those who are consciously untrue and act in bad faith– attack the honor or image of others.

There is nothing better in order to initiate ourselves in a new practice area of law, than to open the doors to others.

It is what we do here, opening the doors to those who, in other countries, dedicate themselves to the study of these matters...

One of the places we enjoy visiting is the BeersLaw virtual office.

You can find a very interesting study about the future of software patenting at the  McCutchen homepage or even surf to the US Library of Congress and find info about Internet, computers and online communication. It is simply an amazing library.

Another very interesting site is the cyberlaw.com  where you can find an immensity of up to date articles concerning cyberlaw and computer and technology law.

In our Links section you can also find other addresses to libraries or archives that have documents about cyberlaw issues.

The following links are not ordered in any particular way. They are the result of what we have collected during our searches, and that we will try to improve in the course of our surfing...
