The Firm Policy
The lawyers of MRA refuse to provide legal assistance to the State or any public entity, specifically the public companies, and do not accept to find a solution to the problems of the clients based on favouritism or influence peddling.
Because they understand the promiscuity between the public and private interests is offensive to the free market and to the good quality of the legal services, they support a permanent list with the lawyers who render services to the State and public entities to be published on the internet, as means to allow the consumers to be perfectly aware of the levels of independency of the persons to whom they request juridical assistance.
The lawyers of MRA support that the legal and administrative deadlines imply that the State has special obligations to meet them, adopting a proactive attitude with the purpose to enforce the law and the State must take the responsibility when such deadlines are not met. For this reason, the Powers of Attorney, which are given to us, contain, as a rule, powers to sue the State and its employees based on the civil responsibility mechanisms.
Our Fees Policy
Since we are providers of legal services and not partners of our clients, we essentially calculate our fees based on the time we spend working on their cases, which naturally is the best way to evaluate the developed efforts to tackle real difficulties.
The lawyers and trainee-lawyers are divided into five groups according to their experience.
Taking into account the severe financial crisis that, generally, affects Europe and, particularly, Portugal, we have adopted the following table of hourly fees in March 2010:
Lawyers Group A – 100.00€
Lawyers Group B – 80.00€
Lawyers Group C – 60.00€
Trainee-Lawyers Group D – 40.00€
Trainee-Lawyers Group E – 25.00€
